In the article "Growing Pains", Ronald Vanderwell talks about how he changed the worship style in his church to help the congregation. He states that he had "no plans to abandon our use of organ accompaniment and traditional hymns". Vanderwell wanted to use contemporary songs and instruments along side the traditional. Because of these changes, the church has "a very clear focus and a deep, genuine sense of passion about its ministry" (Vanderwell). Worship was the starting point to find the vision of the church (Vanderwell).
Seeing how worship can and has influenced people because of its changes can help someone realize how powerful it is. When a form of worship becomes traditional, it is changed to be new. If worship never changes, people will get bored with it.
